In today’s time social media has become the pinnacle of the world in a plenitude of ways. From how we receive our news, conduct business, shop, how we educate ourselves, create content, connect with others all over the world, and how we keep ourselves entertain. Also, with the evolution of the internet and more platforms to create online social sites; social media is becoming more and more powerful and apparent globally. Although social media has numerous positive effects there are also negative effects social media brings to society.

Social media is the key factor to our everyday lives it connects us to people, stories, and information around the world with the click of a button. “Social media is a new forum that brings people to exchange ideas, connect with, relate to, and mobilize for a cause, seek advice, and offer guidance. Social media has removed communication barriers and created decentralized communication channel and open the door for all to have a voice and participate in a democratic fashion including people in repressive countries” (Amedie 3).
